Metro : Votre prochain film, ce sera donc encore avec Cronenberg ?

Robert Pattinson : Je ne sais pas encore exactement quand nous allons tourner. Mais ce sera la première fois que David fera un film sur le sol américain. A Los Angeles précisément. Ca parlera de l'industrie cinématographique et je promets que ça sera très bizarre. D'ici là, je vais faire Mission : Black List, avec le réalisateur français Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, qui avait fait Johnny Mad Dog. Ca parlera de la traque de Saddam Hussein et nous voulons tourner en Irak, à Tikrit même si c'est compliqué. Mais j'ai 26 ans, et c'est le genre de choses qu'il faut tenter. Si quelqu'un doit le faire, ce sera moi !

Robert Pattinson : I don't know when exactly we're going to shoot. It will be David's first movie in America. In Los Angeles, to be exact. It will be about the industry of cinematography and I promise that it's going to be really weird. Till then, I'm doing Mission: Blacklist with the French director, Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, who did Johnny Mad Dog. It'll be about the search of Saddam Hussein and we want to film in Iraq, in Tikrit, even tho it's complicated. But I'm 26 and it's the kind of thing that tempts me. If someone should do it, it will be me!

Les Inrocks : Sans doute. C'est comme ces grands cinéastes américains qui n'ont de public qu'en France ou presque : Coppola, Ferrara …

Robert Pattinson : J'ai passé une audition pour Ferrara un jour mais je n'ai pas eu le rôle. C'était avant Twilight. J'avais l'impression d'avoir réussi ma meilleure prestation, je m'étais presque cassé le bras et il a juste dit : 'Ouais, OK, pas mal'. Je suis reparti en pleurant, c'était très gênant (rires) ! J'aimerais tellement parler français. Un tas de trucs que j'ai envie de faire sont en français.

Les Inrocks : Ah oui ? Par exemple ?

Robert Pattinson : J'ai un projet avec Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire. Ca s'appelle Mission : Blacklist, un film sur la traque et la capture de Saddam Hussein. Et vous savez quoi ? Il veut tourner en Irak. Fuck yeah ! Personne d'autre n'a les couilles de faire ça ! Tout le monde veut qu'il aille en Tunisie mais il insiste : ça se passe en Irak, je tourne en Irak. Il a raison ! Du moins tant qu'on n'est pas kidnappés (rires).

Robert Pattinson : I did an audition for Ferrera one day but I didn't get the role. It was before Twilight. I felt like I accomplished my best performance, I almost broke my arm and he said: 'yeah, okay, not bad.' I left in tears, it was really embarrassing *laughs*! I want to be able to speak French so badly. A lot of things I want to are in French.

Robert Pattinson : I have a project with Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, who directed Johnny Mad Dog. It's called Mission: Blacklist, a movie about the search and capture of Saddam Hussein.
